Outfit | Snow Style

The blizzard of 2016 hit Philly this past weekend and I felt totally prepared with both a new coat and boots. Proper winter wear makes all the difference on snowy days like these. It was such a pleasure strolling through the city while feeling warm and toasty in my down jacket and waterproof shoes. My usual fluffy, white accessories were the perfect (and necessary) additions to this all-neutrals winter look. The city was on complete shut-down as the snow piled up Friday night through Saturday. Tow trucks waited patiently for the final flakes to fall before clearing the streets for the typical city traffic. The soft silence was so fun to explore as were the bars crowded with folks escaping their cabin fever and laughing over hot ciders and stouts.

I’d highly recommend investing in a pair of waterproof (not just water resistant) boots and a long winter coat. It truly made all the difference in the blizzard and I felt like the cutest snow bunny braving the snowy streets of Philadelphia.

  • Cream Wool Bouclé Coat – LOFT
  • Tan Scarf – Forever 21
  • Black Leather Boots – Franco Sarto, Nordstrom’s
  • Clutch – H&M

  • Rose Gold Sunnies – LOFT
  • Feeling so wintry in my new bouclé coat and new leather boots. They have the most classic gold zipper detail and the back panel (calf-side) of the boot is all suede while the rest of the shoe is leather. They polish off any winter look perfectly. I have even paired them with a sparkly skirt and black tights for a more formal, festive look. And of course, my new winter coat this year is a neutral color. Surprise, surprise. ;)

Hope everyone has a happy holiday season!

It’s really been forever since I’ve blogged… But I’ve been enjoying this lovely fall season tremendously so I finally put together an outfit post to share. This season I have been all about pieces that can be thrown together quickly while running out the door. Oversized sweaters and skinnny jeans (of course) have been lifesavers. I think it’s pretty much a fail-safe rule that tight bottoms paired with a loose-fitting top (and vice versa) always balance each other out to create a classic silhouette.  Heels also are a quick way to elevate an outfit, but I have been only wearing chunky heels as of late. Stilettos are just way too formal for an everyday look and way too uncomfortable! I really adore these Steve Madden open toe heels. The suede heel styled with the knit sweater are just so cozy and keep the outfit interesting.

This fall, sleeveless sweaters have been a major trend and I could definitely see swapping that into this look as well. I think the trend is worn best as a high turtleneck. The turtleneck seems to create a polished, streamlined silhouette that reads very “Kardashian” to me. And as you’re fully aware by now, I’m completely in love with simple, neutral looks so I’ve linked several options here for reference! >>> Black Sleeveless Sweater, Beige Sleeveless Sweater, Gray Sleeveless Sweater, White Sleeveless Sweater. Happy Shopping :)

I fell in love with this white dress and after a couple weeks of hesitation, I finally picked it up. Like a vest, it buttons up the front and the belt cinches in the waist to create a pretty silhouette. For such a simple piece, it’s full of thoughtful little details which I always appreciate. The gold zipper, shoulder snaps, and pockets really elevate the look. Summer white will only be in season for a few more weeks, so will definitely start incorporating this chic dress into my work outfits a little more often!

This post is a bit different than my usual “Outfit” articles, but our Girls’ Trip to Chicago was so amazing a couple weekends back I felt compelled to share.

Day 1: We celebrated my sister’s first big work trip by flying out a day early to enjoy the city with her. I tried to capture as many of the fun, beautiful moments as possible, but looking back through photos now, I wish I had taken so many more! This first photo above is from the Chicago River Walk. The River Walk is lined with beautiful restaurants and boats parked like cars along the sides. You can also hop on a River Taxi to take you throughout the city. We had wanted to try this but eventually figured out the bus and train system instead (which is convenient and gets you through town MUCH faster than an Uber or Taxi). Get the Look: Blue/White Floral Blouse –  Forever 21. Khaki Jacket – H&MCamel Tote –  Sponsored from the Dress W+E site.

Day 2: Visited the Eataly restaurant for an early lunch. I’ve also been to the Eataly in NYC but the Chicago one was of course more spacious and less crowded. As my mom and I laughed our way through town, we also managed to do some shopping (Magnificent Mile is the major shopping district in Chi-Town & much more impressive than the brands available here in Philly), toured the spa at the Trump Hotel, got some Blackhawks gear from the NHL Store (they went on to win the playoffs which I’m sure can be partially attributed to my sudden support of the team), and walked along River Drive over to Navy Pier. Later that night, we indulged in Chicago deep dish pizza at the famous Lou Malnati’s like a proper tourist should. Get the Look: White Skinny Jeans – H&M. Chambray Pop-Over – J. Crew Factory. Brown Caged Heels – Target. And of course, all my Alex & Ani bracelets listed in this old blog post.

Day 3: More wandering, shopping, and taking in the beautiful skyline views. We tried an amazing bakery called Goddess and the Baker on Wabash Avenue. Would highly recommend – the baristas were so friendly and made an amazing chai tea latte. While a flash thunderstorm passed through town, we enjoyed a mass service and stopped for another chai. Finally after the rain cleared, we stopped by The Great Bean and all of the art installations in Grant Park. Get the Look: Light Pink Slim-Fit Treggings – H&M. White Quarter Zip – Nike. Khaki Jacket – H&M. Brown Caged Heels – Target.

There is so much to do in Chicago, I cannot wait to plan a trip back. A 3-day weekend was not long enough! Very proud of my younger sister and happy to have kept her company during her first big business trip! Stay tuned for more outfit blog posts in the near future. The frequency of posting has been slacking as of late. However, due to several recent shopping trips, I plan to post fresh content more often in the coming weeks!

Outfit | Spring Jacket & Chambray Flats

It’s been a beautiful spring in Philadelphia this year. The cherry blossoms bloomed a bit later than normal, but the petals are now starting to fall and cover the streets and sidewalks making for the most picturesque strolls through town. Last weekend, we had the opportunity to get up early and enjoy the gorgeous weather before most people had ventured out for brunch, etc. The quiet sun on weekend mornings is my absolute favorite. The softest light of the day seems to shine between sunrise and around 9:30ish, so I love when I’m able to wake up early enough to soak it all in. On that day, we had walked to brunch at Marathon on the Square and then wandered through Rittenhouse Square over to the Anthropologie flagship store.  So many beautiful neutral pieces in there at the moment! It was so difficult to resist splurging on this incredible knit maxi skirt and these darling linen Seastripe Shorts in a simple black stripe fabric.

I loved the easy shirt dress outfit I had thrown on that morning. A basic piece like that is perfect for this time of year as it looks so polished and can be dressed up for work with a blazer and heels or more casually for weekend wear as I had styled it here. I linked as many of the pieces I’m wearing below and shared lots of similar items that I’m currently loving. Hope you’re enjoying spring and getting to explore through your city or town while the weather is at its prime! xx – KMK

Designer Collaboration | Lilly Pulitzer x Target

    lilly pulitzer x target

I was so excited when the team at Lilly Pulitzer x Target reached out to ask if I’d be interested in promoting their newest collaboration. As you’re probably well aware, Target collaborates with high end designers frequently to offer their styles at more approachable price points. In recent years, they’ve teamed up with the likes of Jason Wu, Proenza Schouler, Alexander McQueen, Missoni and Rodarte.

Their latest line with Lilly Pulitzer is fun, colorful, and perfectly timed with the onset of spring and summer. As evidenced by my latest outfit posts, neutrals have definitely been a consistent theme in my wardrobe for months. So of course when skimming through the Lilly Pulitzer by Target New Arrivals, I picked a few of my favorite pieces that could easily integrate into my typical everyday looks. Hope you enjoy the selection above and have time today to visit the Lilly Pulitzer x Target online shop to snag some items before they’re all sold out! I expect everything to sell out quickly as the items are available for a limited time only.

Happy Sunday! Hope you’re also out enjoying the beautiful weekend sunshine and a spicy chai latte!

    – My Newest Alex and Ani Bracelet

    • Snake Coil Wrap – I’m so in love with the newest addition to my Alex and Ani #armparty. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have already seen the new snake coil wrap over the weekend. I love the meaning behind it and I think this may be the first scenario where a snake is painted in such a positive light. “Independent and intelligent, the serpent reminds us to continuously evolve and grow.”Alex and Ani

It’s finally starting to feel like spring! So this morning, we took a drive to pick up some fresh Sunday blooms and chai teas. We picked some lovely pink and white tulips which are now sitting in a couple vases around the house. It’s the perfect way to really embrace the season and bring some of the spring beauty indoors. Next time, will be sure to grab some bright yellow daffodils to embrace the even warmer weather. Usually when grabbing some fresh flowers, I don’t even think to ask the florist to re-arrange them for me. However, it seemed like a quite morning for the shop and the woman working was so thrilled to help with bundling up the different colored tulips into one beautiful arrangement. She wrapped them in a white, lace-printed foil and tied them up with white & pink ribbon. Such a small gesture, but she really laid them out nicely together and the delicate flowers rested gently in my tote for the rest of the morning.

Obviously my neutral obsession is still in full effect despite the transition in seasons. I just love these darling scalloped flats from H&M. They’re so simple and appropriate for the brighter springtime weather. Lauren Conrad put out an almost identical scalloped flat in her spring collection with Kohl’s this season. I linked them above for everyone! I also love this simple v-neck blouse from H&M’s recent collection. The wrinkled silk material is perfect for a casual, yet polished look. Hope you’re all enjoying this beautiful spring day and soaking up some sunshine outside!

I’m clearly obsessed with neutral looks this year. The palette is just so classic and polished. When I spotted this hat during a shopping trip last week, I knew it would style perfectly with all of my neutral pieces. This pretty cream style from H&M completely elevates the floppy hat trend with a simple gold band detail. The Hunter boots are another great staple item, both practical and stylish. After my sister gave them to me for Christmas, I have been researching all the cute Hunter accessories. I’ve decided to pick up a pair of the Hunter Genuine Shearling Liners – perfect for staying warm and toasty during a snowy day. Those will likely be saved for next year though, because sadly, this was probably the last wintry day of the year! While I’m looking forward to spring, the beautiful flowers, pretty fashion trends, etc., I will definitely miss these gorgeous snowfalls!

    Irish Blessings

    Alex and Ani’s Clover Charm

So excited about the latest addition to my Alex & Ani collection! I have had my eye on the clover charm for ages and finally found an opportune moment to pick it up. While visiting friends in Boston this past weekend for St. Paddy’s Day, we walked all along Newbury Street, the main shopping district in town. The girls at the shop were such sweethearts and helped me decide to get my first gold bangle from the brand. I chose to get my mom and sister the silver charms as they love wearing all silver pieces. I am thrilled with it and can’t wait to get some more gold pieces to mix in with all my silver ones. The meaning behind this particular charm reminds me so much of the time I spent studying abroad in Ireland and the welcoming nature of the Irish people there, “Luck | Fortune | Prosperity.” And it will of course always remind me of my second wonderful St. Patrick’s Day in Boston! Hope you have a lovely holiday and I’ll leave you with a link to my recent Spring/Green outfit post and an Irish blessing below.

    Wishing you a rainbow
    For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
    For golden happy hours—
    Shamrocks at your doorway
    For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!
