Chambray Off-Shoulder Top

– Shop the Look –

Now that it finally feels like spring, I have been loving all the trends of the season especially off-shoulder tops! Like I mentioned in my last blog post, 70s trends are making a major comeback it seems so naturally off-shoulder styles are becoming really prominent. I LOVE this chambray/tencel top because of the pretty eyelet detailing around the hem. H&M also has some more affordable versions of this same style.

I also have to mention this fabulous new tote I just recently ordered from Dagne Dover! I have been searching for a tote to replace my current H&M work bag which I’ve had for 3 years now… Yes, hard to believe an H&M item lasted that long considering I’ve been lugging my laptop, workout gear, makeup bags, etc. around in it for ages. I finally stumbled across this brand through an Instagram ad and truly I am in love. I also ordered a mini tote which is just precious. I will of course try to blog it sometime soon!!

Hope you’re enjoying the spring blossoms. xx

Outfit | Khaki Green Button Up & Suede Fringe Heels

– Shop the Look –

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! This time last year, I had just started wearing my new Alex & Ani Shamrock charm paired with all the pastels & florals. However, trends are much different this spring. Today’s post is my attempt to style the 70’s comeback trends we saw in all the NYFW shows last month. It is definitely a departure from my current obsession with neutrals, though the olive green doesn’t stray too far from my comfort zone.

All the fast fashion stores, like H&M, Forever, Lulu’s, are full of bell sleeves, flared hemlines, and 70’s color palettes. To be honest, I love the 70’s burnt oranges, mustards, and olive green tones more so for Fall. They match the colors of the landscape perfectly during the autumn season. While I’m not fully on board with this color scheme for the spring, I ended up loving this outfit, especially on St. Patrick’s Day. These suede fringe booties are very on trend and warm for the cooler spring mornings lately. The tassels are a nice feminine contrast to the khaki green cargo shirt.

Creativity is one of the main reasons I’m so intrigued with fashion & style. This look is a great example of following “trends” while remaining true to personal style. It’s possible! I find that trends are always best executed when keeping in mind body shape, occasion, and just personal preferences in general. How have you been incorporating the 70’s vibe into your personal style this spring? Would love to read your thoughts or tips in the comments below! Xo.

I picked up this denim shirt last week and can already tell it will be a major staple in my wardrobe. It is ridiculously soft and the button up style is very slimming. I also loved pairing it with the contrasting texture of the faux suede or “suedette” wedge heels. The fabric is such a major trend this year so I’m incorporating suede wherever I can. This whole look was perfect for last weekend as everyone was strolling about town to and from the St. Paddy’s Day bar festivities. The olive green blended right in! It was also quite sunny out. A scarf & denim jacket were enough for outerwear and still kept the finished outfit quite casual. What trends – besides suede and denim – are you loving this spring? Would love to hear from you in the comments. Xo.

  • Denim Button Up – The lighter denim shade seems only to be available in-store.
  • Suedette Wedges are from Forever 21. I am linking an open toe version of the same heel here since it will be more useful as we enter the spring/summer months.
  • Joggers – These are from last spring! They were a Bullhead Denim pair. But, I think this trend is crazy comfortable and still cute for 2016. So, I’ve linked a pair that’s now available in stores here.
  • Pink & Rose Gold Aviators – LOFT. Circular style here.

Outfit | Snakeskin Loafers

Lately, the weather has been all over the place in Philadelphia. Last weekend we experienced a lovely sunny Sunday followed by a week of chilly temperatures (and even some snow tomorrow!). So as I dress to keep up with the changing seasons, I thought I would share this chic & transitional weekend look with you! I have always loved monochrome outfits for their sophistication and timelessness. I am especially excited about the trend this spring since it was a common theme in the recent New York Fashion Week shows. Pairing these soft snakeskin printed loafers to simple jeans & a t-shirt creates a effortless yet fashion-forward look. And, you will be shocked to learn what a deal they are when clicking through the shopping links below! This black Michael Kors watch is the perfect edgy accessory here and never fails to receive a compliment. Thanks to my always cooler-than-me younger sister for such a thoughtful 25th birthday gift. xo

Sharing another black & white post on the blog today. It’s just too easy to make this monochrome trend look perfectly polished. One trick that helps this outfit beyond the chic color palette is the Rule of Proportions. If I recall correctly, I had been reading an interview with Olivia Palermo when she summarized this concept that I had been subconsciously incorporating into my style for years now. Essentially, if you’ll be wearing an over-sized top, try pairing with fitted bottoms. And vice versa. If you are wearing loose fitted bottoms (chinos, a-line skirts, etc.) pair with a fitted top. The contrasting fits keep your outfit from either swallowing you up in fabric or looking too tight all over. So as we move into spring, especially with the prominence of the flowy 70s trends again, I will definitely rely on this rule for guidance!

Outfit | Snow Style

The blizzard of 2016 hit Philly this past weekend and I felt totally prepared with both a new coat and boots. Proper winter wear makes all the difference on snowy days like these. It was such a pleasure strolling through the city while feeling warm and toasty in my down jacket and waterproof shoes. My usual fluffy, white accessories were the perfect (and necessary) additions to this all-neutrals winter look. The city was on complete shut-down as the snow piled up Friday night through Saturday. Tow trucks waited patiently for the final flakes to fall before clearing the streets for the typical city traffic. The soft silence was so fun to explore as were the bars crowded with folks escaping their cabin fever and laughing over hot ciders and stouts.

I’d highly recommend investing in a pair of waterproof (not just water resistant) boots and a long winter coat. It truly made all the difference in the blizzard and I felt like the cutest snow bunny braving the snowy streets of Philadelphia.

  • Cream Wool Bouclé Coat – LOFT
  • Tan Scarf – Forever 21
  • Black Leather Boots – Franco Sarto, Nordstrom’s
  • Clutch – H&M
  • Rings – Swarovski
  • Rose Gold Sunnies – LOFT
  • Feeling so wintry in my new bouclé coat and new leather boots. They have the most classic gold zipper detail and the back panel (calf-side) of the boot is all suede while the rest of the shoe is leather. They polish off any winter look perfectly. I have even paired them with a sparkly skirt and black tights for a more formal, festive look. And of course, my new winter coat this year is a neutral color. Surprise, surprise. ;)

Hope everyone has a happy holiday season!

It’s really been forever since I’ve blogged… But I’ve been enjoying this lovely fall season tremendously so I finally put together an outfit post to share. This season I have been all about pieces that can be thrown together quickly while running out the door. Oversized sweaters and skinnny jeans (of course) have been lifesavers. I think it’s pretty much a fail-safe rule that tight bottoms paired with a loose-fitting top (and vice versa) always balance each other out to create a classic silhouette.  Heels also are a quick way to elevate an outfit, but I have been only wearing chunky heels as of late. Stilettos are just way too formal for an everyday look and way too uncomfortable! I really adore these Steve Madden open toe heels. The suede heel styled with the knit sweater are just so cozy and keep the outfit interesting.

This fall, sleeveless sweaters have been a major trend and I could definitely see swapping that into this look as well. I think the trend is worn best as a high turtleneck. The turtleneck seems to create a polished, streamlined silhouette that reads very “Kardashian” to me. And as you’re fully aware by now, I’m completely in love with simple, neutral looks so I’ve linked several options here for reference! >>> Black Sleeveless Sweater, Beige Sleeveless Sweater, Gray Sleeveless Sweater, White Sleeveless Sweater. Happy Shopping :)

I fell in love with this white dress and after a couple weeks of hesitation, I finally picked it up. Like a vest, it buttons up the front and the belt cinches in the waist to create a pretty silhouette. For such a simple piece, it’s full of thoughtful little details which I always appreciate. The gold zipper, shoulder snaps, and pockets really elevate the look. Summer white will only be in season for a few more weeks, so will definitely start incorporating this chic dress into my work outfits a little more often!

This post is a bit different than my usual “Outfit” articles, but our Girls’ Trip to Chicago was so amazing a couple weekends back I felt compelled to share.

Day 1: We celebrated my sister’s first big work trip by flying out a day early to enjoy the city with her. I tried to capture as many of the fun, beautiful moments as possible, but looking back through photos now, I wish I had taken so many more! This first photo above is from the Chicago River Walk. The River Walk is lined with beautiful restaurants and boats parked like cars along the sides. You can also hop on a River Taxi to take you throughout the city. We had wanted to try this but eventually figured out the bus and train system instead (which is convenient and gets you through town MUCH faster than an Uber or Taxi). Get the Look: Blue/White Floral Blouse –  Forever 21. Khaki Jacket – H&MCamel Tote –  Sponsored from the Dress W+E site.

Day 2: Visited the Eataly restaurant for an early lunch. I’ve also been to the Eataly in NYC but the Chicago one was of course more spacious and less crowded. As my mom and I laughed our way through town, we also managed to do some shopping (Magnificent Mile is the major shopping district in Chi-Town & much more impressive than the brands available here in Philly), toured the spa at the Trump Hotel, got some Blackhawks gear from the NHL Store (they went on to win the playoffs which I’m sure can be partially attributed to my sudden support of the team), and walked along River Drive over to Navy Pier. Later that night, we indulged in Chicago deep dish pizza at the famous Lou Malnati’s like a proper tourist should. Get the Look: White Skinny Jeans – H&M. Chambray Pop-Over – J. Crew Factory. Brown Caged Heels – Target. And of course, all my Alex & Ani bracelets listed in this old blog post.

Day 3: More wandering, shopping, and taking in the beautiful skyline views. We tried an amazing bakery called Goddess and the Baker on Wabash Avenue. Would highly recommend – the baristas were so friendly and made an amazing chai tea latte. While a flash thunderstorm passed through town, we enjoyed a mass service and stopped for another chai. Finally after the rain cleared, we stopped by The Great Bean and all of the art installations in Grant Park. Get the Look: Light Pink Slim-Fit Treggings – H&M. White Quarter Zip – Nike. Khaki Jacket – H&M. Brown Caged Heels – Target.

There is so much to do in Chicago, I cannot wait to plan a trip back. A 3-day weekend was not long enough! Very proud of my younger sister and happy to have kept her company during her first big business trip! Stay tuned for more outfit blog posts in the near future. The frequency of posting has been slacking as of late. However, due to several recent shopping trips, I plan to post fresh content more often in the coming weeks!
