A lot of the fashion trends that seem to be most popular for Fall 2013 were also huge hits during this past summer season – totally revamped for the cooler months but completely in line with the edgy vibes of last season. Below are my person 4 favorite style trends of the moment and the pieces that seem to just hit the mark perfectly.
<Faux> Leather –
was huge in the summer and now we’re seeing a ton of it for fall. Whether they’re leather leggings, a few smart accents of leather along your shirt collar or featured as a side panel along a pair of trousers, leather will instantly amp up the style factor of your outfit for fall.
Peplum –
is such a feminine silhouette and I LOVE how ASOS keeps it from looking too girl but designing a leather peplum belt with a fierce metal band that you can pop on with any dress, pant, or skirt look. Such an innovative recreation of a trend that I would have otherwise considered a bit dry after about 2 seasons.
Scalloped –
hems were a trend I was craving all summer long. We’ve chatted about different scalloped pieces so many times on the blog and I still think that the blend of faux leather, a skater skirt, and a scalloped hem is the ultimate mix of edgy/girly/chic. My favorite scalloped piece by far (and I may be a bit biased) is this skirt from my own KMK shop!
Mixed Medium –
looks so sophisticated this season and we’re seeing lots of designers incorporating this trend into everything from pants to tops to even shoes! I love the idea of a mixed medium top for nights out because a bit of leather designed smartly into a piece instantly glams up an otherwise quite basic shirt.
